By Changshun Wen/ Taoyuan
Teacher Wen (1925-2005) devoted his life to education and art circles. His influence was far-reaching. In addition to his artistic excellence, what his students inherited was his Confucian outlook on life. He did not hesitate to help the younger generations develop an interest in and love for art. His artistic skills and insight gained great respect and gratitude, as his promotion of the glue colour painting style led the Taoyuan art circle to engage more in this medium.
His soft-tone artworks depict the natural scenery, which offers deep spiritual satisfaction and contentment. The colours and shapes of the painting echo each other. The flowers blooming with vitality and the majestic alpine landscape illustrate the state of being in the now, capturing the spiritual inspiration of the moment. Through his artwork, joy and peace are shared.
