Life itself is a work of art. Knowing how to slow down and appreciate life is an even more profound art. I have been teaching art for decades, where I have immersed myself in the artistic atmosphere of painting. Seeing the joy and confidence of my students during the learning process always brings me enormous happiness. Every student has a talent for painting. I am just a guide and companion to help them explore and discover their talents.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, my classroom is no longer as active as it used to be. Everything seems to be on pause. However, because of the pandemic, I can enjoy painting again. It always reminds me to remain positive and strong in the fight against unexpected circumstances, such as a pandemic. Like the ox in my painting, one needs to have an extremely strong physical self and mind to withstand harsh conditions. Like a tiger, which may be called “the King of Cats,” is really only a ‘big cat.’ I mainly use watercolour and ink for my paintings, and these two techniques complement each other. I always draw without pressure, painting with my heart and playing around with colours. I experiment with joy, create beautiful forms with delight, and ultimately deepen my spirituality through art.
